Based in oakland, CA, 최 Lindsay is a poet and translator working between English, Korean, and swedish. They are the author of Transverse (Futurepoem, 2021), which was a finalist for the Lambda literary award in transgender poetry 2022, and a chapbook, Matrices (speCt! books, 2017). They are a Ph.d. candidate in English Literature at UC Berkeley, and they have received fellowships from Kundiman and UC Berkeley’s Arts Research Center, as well as a residency from baltic writing residencies. more of their work can be found in Changes Review, OmniVerse, Amerarcana, aster(ix) Journal, Apogee, The Felt, Bettering American Poetry Vol. 2, and elsewhere, including the Berkeley Art Museum’s recent exhibit, Way Bay.

Recent projects include a creative/critical hybrid manuscript in and out of translation, on the colonial history of leprosy in korea. Their editorial work includes a print journal of translations and experiments in collaboration between Swedish and American poets, released in Sweden, Denmark, and the U.S, edited collaboratively by Berkeley poetry review and ordkonst. They are a founding co-editor, with noah ross, of the chapbook press Mo(o)on/io. Their work has been translated to french, Swedish, and Korean, appearing in nioques, 22/23: nouvelle poésie des états-unis (new U.S. poetry), edited by double change collective, and translated by abigail lang; Tydningen Nr 55/56: Nya Dikter, 51/52: Monostitch, and 48/49: Diagram, tabeller och kartor, translated by sara Wengström; and forthcoming november 2026 in the exhibition catalog Acc future prize 2026: Youngeun Kim, to future listeners: migrating Sounds, published by national asian culture center, gwanju.
